In horse racing a spread on a favourite is an index of racing. This spread is on the overall performance of that particular horse. For example the spread is how many times he came in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.

Totals and Match Spread Bets

Totals is another type of spread found in spread betting. These are the total points in a game or minutes it took to score. Another is the total number of completed laps by a driver in a race.

Match bets are another type of spread in sports spread betting. Match bets are popular as it puts two players against each other. Match bets could be putting two teams or horses against each other.

The actual outcome of the game does not matter in this type of bet. Instead what happens between these two players or teams is important.

Another type of sports spread bet is the tournament indices. This spread is long term as it deals with a whole tournament. This includes events from the first game all the way to the finals.

In tournament indices, a spread is based on the number of points. This could be the number of points a player or team receives. The number of points received is for placing in a game or match.

The types of sports spreads are many which makes it interesting. Sports fans have a high probability of finding a spread they know. Betting on things they know can help maximise their profits.
